Design R was formed in early 1988 by Mr Jay Patel. What started out as an import and export business, this quickly grew to offer IT/ Web services.

"Our IT department came about due to the lack of services we required whilst trading as import/ export agents" says Jay Patel.

In early 2002, Design R saw the lack of web services on offer, particularly to the SME business market. "I designed my own web site in 1999 as I was finding it difficult to find a decent web design and hosting services for my inital business" says Mr Jay Patel. "Either the prices where not competitive or the web sites where not how we wanted them".

Through trial and error, I finally designed a whole website that did exactly what I wanted it to. As we increased our website orders, our web pages where seen by many business and we started to receive enquires about web design and hosting. "What started out as doing a couple of pages for my friends businesses, quickly grew to receiving over 40+ emails a day regarding some form of IT service".

This has since snowballed and we now have a dedicated IT department. Although our main service is web site designs, we are also familiar with various other elements that go into making an effective website, with knowledge of Cpanel, Plesk, Linux and Windows servers, along with the other "backend" tools.
