We have compiled a list of FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions) regarding web site design, how to get your sites online and general information about us.

1. How long have Design R been providing web site design?
We have been providing It services and web design since 2002. The whole business was started in 1998.

2. You say you have experience in other web services including hosting?
Yes. We started a web hosting business at the same time, in 2002. Due to the immense success of this department, we where approached by a much larger IT business who eventually bought out this division.

3. Your web sites looks expensive. How much are they?
It difficult to provide a general price for work we can do. This is dependant on a number of factors including size and coding used. However, we can assure you that are quotes are extremely competitive and we will price work according to our experience.

4. What tools do you use to create web sites?
Depending on the actual sites, we will use a number of methods to create the finished product. Some tools we use are fireworks, photoshop, dreamweaver and notepad/ wordpad for hand coding.

5. How long will a web sites take to create?
Again, this will depend on a number of factors including how complex the site is. Upon contacting us, we can give you an approx time for completion.

6. I have never uploaded a website before. What's involved?
If you are not familiar with how website's work, we can also advise you on this. Basically, you will need to buy a domain name and some web space from a web host. Upon purchasing your domain name, ask your host for the DNS nameservers. Once you have these, you need to point your domain name to it. This normally takes between 24-72 hours. You host will also provide you with your web space FTP details. Using an FTP client (such as WS FTP, CUTE FTP..etc) you can log into your webspace where you can upload the files we provide you. We can also upload your files, images and scripts for you if you can supply us with your FTP details.

7. What if my sites needs regular maintenance?
We can also provide a regular maintenance package if your sites needs constant updating. Contact us for a price on this.

8. I already have a website but need a more professional image. Can you overwrite a current site?
Yes we can. We simply replace your current web files with the ones we provide you.

9. Ok, I'm sold! I like your sites and want a quote for some design work. How do I do this?
You simply contact us using the online form (or email) giving us a brief on what you are looking for. One of our designers will then contact you with the relevant information you require, including a price.

10. What payment methods do you take and what are your terms?
We can take payment via paypal, nochex or cheque. A 25% deposit is required prior to any work being carried out and the remaining 75% upon completion.

11. Will we get a VAT invoice?
Yes. Design R are VAT registered. Our reg number is: GB 696 4886 56
